Glenna Haney

Glenna Haney, who began her professional artistic career with acrylic landscapes and charcoal portraits. After nine (9) years in the endeavor, she evolved into stained glass and blown glass design and construction. Her training was under Emilio Santini of Italy when he was a visiting artist at the University of Michigan; with Fred Birkhill, also at U. of M.; and on the job training. She has over six (6) years of glasswork, and with her expert eye for form and color, oversees all designs for the studio.

Shellie Bavers

Shellie Bavers, is one of four (4) family members in the business. Her special contribution is personal adornment and jewelry. She has eight (8) years of experience in blowing, torch work, and stained glass.

Jay Bavers

Another member of the Bavers family is Jay, the chief craftsman. If he could claim his first exposure and training at age five (5) under his grandfather, he would show over forty (40) years experience. He also studied under Santini and Birkhill as well as Shane Ferro and Paul Stankard at U. of M.; Herb Babcock at The Center for Creative Studies in Detroit; and Rhodi Rovner at the Corning Museum in Corning, NY. He is the third known generation of glass workers in his family, and proficient in all disciplines.

Bill Bavers

The business also boasts the fourth generation of glass artisans in Bill Bavers. Bill has ten (10) years working in solid glass art such as paperweights, each one of superb design and technique. He also excels in torch work and sand blasting.

Beth Bavers

Still another of the Bavers is Beth, a ten (10) year veteran whose forte is stone wheel engraving and sandblasting, especially deep sand carving. Her exacting eye for color and form has made her a valued member of the crew.

Ruth Ann Gritzmaker

Rounding out this unusually talented group is Ruth Ann Gritzmaker who has the unique job of translating customers' pictures into stained glass, a meticulous and exacting job. She also creates sun catchers in crystal leaded glass bevels, and generally uses her ten (10) years knowledge in the patient pursuit of perfection.

To sum up the range of contributions by the group, start with the delicate jewelry items, and go to the large wall hangings. In between are free form sculptures and vases, stained and blown glass chandeliers, seasonal stained glass wall hangings and blown ornaments, one-of-a-kind paperweights with outstanding examples of torch work, lawn ornaments, custom stained glass chandeliers in both stained and blown glass; lamp shades; and in the more mundane artifacts are hand mirrors, baskets, and jewel/trinket boxes, and more.

The artists also give lessons in stained glass, and, when time permits, in the art of glass blowing.
